About me - Jurgen Dabeedin

Background:

I studied Scientific and Industrial photography at Harrow College from 1979 to 1982, leaving with a 1st Degree with Honours, before spending almost 20 years as a forensic photographer. I am an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society.

Seeing the Llight:

One late summer's day, with the sun streaming through the living room window, a tall plain glass vase cast its shadow onto the wall. Except this shadow wasn't just an outline. It had beautifully intricate refraction and diffraction patterns within it as the light twisted and bent its way through the glass curves. Immediately, an ordinary vase had been transformed into an amazing light projector, revealing previously hidden secrets...

Using the Light:

That moment pointed the way for me to combine the fascinating  but potentially cold scientific techniques with everyday objects and see them (literally) in a different light. The technical aspects are merely an aid to the creative process, not the subject of it and my passion is to reveal the extraordinary within the ordinary; finding beauty in our everyday surroundings.

Art for Renewal and Investment:

My work is created to be more than simply 'fillers' for walls! New art as part of a renovation or revamp will help breathe life back into  neglected or tired spaces. What's more, limited edition photographic prints are also finding collectable status in todays art markets and therefore have the potential to become sound investments for the future.

And so to Business...

I create art for residential and commercial interiors. That's half the story. In a world full of faceless websites , customer service, attention to detail and commitment to my clients form the strongest parts of my business ethic. I will always make it my priority to respond and follow up on any enquiry I receive and promise to deliver not only outstanding artwork, but also service.
